Restored Old Farmhouse with Pool, that Enjoys Panoramic Views of the Bay of Soros (ref: 44793)

Restored Old Farmhouse with Pool, that Enjoys Panoramic Views of the Bay of Soros

Charming property with private pool close to the beach

The property consists of two small adjacent stone buildings of about 180 m2 built in 1983 around the ruins of an old farm house and stables on 7000m2 of land . The original building was built before the arrival of motorised vehicles and roads on the island and all building materials were excavated locally and transported by mule.

The land extended from the present house to the sea, about 300 metres downhill but the owner decided to restore the old farmhouse at the top of the land in order to enjoy a panoramic view of the bay and the islands to the south and east of Antiparos. A private road leads to this property which means your holiday will be peaceful and secluded.

Outside the buildings are large paved terraces which mainly face south.

There are three double bedrooms, one single bedroom, a storage-utility room, a kitchen and a living room with TV and DVD.

There are 4 bathrooms (three with a shower and one with a bathtub).
All rooms enjoy cross ventilation. There are also fans.
All beds have mosquito nets though mosquitoes are not a real problem in August.
The flooring is stone and is covered in part with rugs and kilims.
The furniture is mainly early 20th century family pieces. Several old ceramic pieces from the owner's collection are scattered around the terraces and in the living room.

The living spaces are organized in four blocks that communicate through external covered patios.
Block 1: living room/kitchen/guest bathroom with shower
Block 2: two double bedrooms/bathroom with bathtub
Block 3: double bedroom/bathroom with shower
Block 4: single bedroom/bathroom with shower
The kitchen has a stove, oven and fridge as well as a toaster, filter coffee maker and a microwave oven.

A freezer and washing machine are located in the storage room.
Running water is supplied through a pumping system from rain water cisterns and hot water is provided by solar panels.
It is recommended to use bottled water for drinking.

The small swimming pool is 3X6 m and enjoys a great view to the sea.
Walking to Soros beach takes 4 mins. going downhill and 6 mins. going uphill. By car it is less than a minute.
There are two small family restaurants in the area, one just on Soros beach and the other 200 m from the beach.
Several other beaches are accessible by car in less than 10 mins.

This is an ideal tranquil beautiful location for a relaxing holiday where you can escape the stress of the office and city life in the little retreat under Aegean skies.

Facilities:
Twice a weekly house keeping, change of linen and pool cleaning.

Antiparos is a charming island with the town of Antiparos itself built around the Venetian castle. The most remarkable feature in the island of Antiparos is a stalactite cavern on the south coast, which is reached by a narrow passage broken by two steep and dangerous descents which are accomplished by the aid of rope-ladders. The grotto itself, which is about 150 feet by 100, and 50 feet high (not all can be seen from any part, and probably some portions are still unexplored), shows many remarkable examples of stalactite formations and incrustations of dazzling brilliance.

It is not mentioned by ancient writers; there is, however, in the entrance of the cavern an inscription recording the names of visitors in ancient times. Accessible areas of the cavern walls are covered with graffiti, some of them beautifully lettered, recording visitors during the 18th and 19th centuries: these include royalty and other well-known tourists alongside geologists and engineers.

There are plenty of beaches on the island, but the biggest one is Psaraliki. There are two beaches called Psaraliki, the first and the second, but the first one is the biggest and atracts the majority of the island visitors. Between the beaches lies "Fanari beach club" and beyond the second lies "Time Marine beach club" There are also other beaches and restaurants on the island, but they are harder to reach, although you can take the bus to them from the port. The square in Antiparos is the central meeting place, and this is where most of the night clubs and bars are situated.

Antiparos is an island in the island group Cyclades in the Aegean Sea, in the modern province of Naxos, separated by a strait (about 1-½ miles wide at the narrowest point) from the west coast of Paros: the boat trip is just ten minutes from Pounda, a little port on Paros which can be reached by bus or taxi, and about twenty minutes from the main port in Paros, Paroikia.

The island's seashore is 57 kilometers long, but it's not big in population: there are approximately 900 residents in Antiparos, most of whom live in Kastro, a village on the north coast, and are employed in agriculture and fishing. Formerly piracy was common.

Anitparos is a jewel of an island with friendly locals and the endless sunshine and beautiful unspoilt beaches will makeyou want to return again and again.
